The Power of Joy

The Power of Joy is an uplifting tale by Annie, an elementary music/arts teacher in Edmonds, WA School District. Annie’s story about one of her creative movement and dance competitions for pre-teens was created to help the community understand that many programs for young kids are not directly about raising state test scores but absolutely do support kids in being successful as learners in their schools. Edmonds School District is presently organizing for a 2006 spring referendum that requires their community to “see” specific needs for ongoing funding of programs that get results for kids. Annie’s DigiTales Camp story is part of an effort to share and inform their community of the myriad of successes their teachers deliver for kids everyday.
